While in NYC last month I had the opportunity to collaborate upon the design of Jimi Crayon, out of London. The wall is located on the corner of 126 street in Harlem on Amsterdam Ave. While painting this wall people had so much input. It felt really good to paint again in NYC and feel the energy of the people… and it was for a good cause… to raise some awareness about a growing epidemic in New York.

MAKING IT BETTER: FOLK ARTS IN PENNSYLVANIA TODAY

Making It Better: Folk Arts in Pennsylvania Today opens for its limited engagement at Millersville University September 12^th through October 23^rd. In conjunction with this exhibition, On October 12th, Pose 2, Mr. Maxx Moses will present a 1 hour lecture titled “IDENTITY, The power of writing your Name”. This new exhibition is designed to educate visitors about the vitality of living folk art traditions found in Pennsylvania today. It will feature learning opportunities for all ages and asks visitors to consider the question, “How do your artistic traditions make a difference?”

The exhibition features over 30 master artists from every corner of the state, and represents a wide array of traditions. The art and programs demonstrate that although many traditional arts are rooted in century old practices, they are meeting the needs of those living in very modern times. Accelerate

Accelerate Sycle Studio, a new innovative workout facility based on getting physically fit and having a really good time while doing so opened up about 2 months ago in Inglewood Ca. the ambition Willie Atterberry, commissioned Maxx Moses to enhance his all Black lite Studio with a fluorescent Mural that would reflect raw energy, Strength and beauty the Accelerate promotes… so here it is “Glow”

The Way of No Way

The revered, and highly respected, young instructor, Reza Moazezi has finally manifested his dream, to have his own school. The way of No Way a 5000 square foot, Martial Arts Studio in Woodland Hills Ca. The School’s philosophy is based on self- discovery through Martial Arts. Reza’s Aesthetic vision and life’s philosophy was a natural fit with the creative instincts of Mr. Maxx Moses. Together they conceptualized a wonderful project that Mr. Reza himself titles “Humble Violence”. The project was so well received that Mr. Maxx Moses is designing the clothing line for the studio as well!

Kanrocksas

This summer I was invited to click my heels three times and Say there’s no place like home as I was chosen to paint at the Kanrocksas Concert! This 2-day festival was jam packed with amazing musicians like the flaming lips, Kid Cudi, the black keys, Muse, Eminen and many more.

The visual artist consisted of a host of 25 painters from around the country who collaborated on a awesome mural and painted live with the bands throughout the night… it was amazing I got a chance to meet and paint with cats I’ve seen in magazines from the 90’s Kansas City … Ill be back!

Last month Pose 2 aka Mr Maxx Moses had the opportunity to work along side some really talented San Diego Heavy Weights. Curator and Gallery Owner, Alexander Salazar put together a deal that syncronized the Design work of Margit Whitlock and creative vision of Trevor Hanson, Owner of EPMG Marketing to create an on site 40 x 4.5 Graffuturistic Mural Installation. HIGH SCHOOLIN BEAUTIFULIN

In June of 2010 University City High School’s Art Tech Academy, granted me an Artist Residency to co- create a mural with the graduating seniors. The idea was to first teach the students some basic fundamentals of spray painting and how to create a mural using Parachute Cloth. Parachute Cloth is a technique and process that is used in mural making in which artists can create a mural in studio and then apply it onto a desired surface.
The opportunity to work with various high schools in the past has resulted in me being the designer and the students happily filling in areas. However this talented group of individuals was different, they were truly creative thinkers and painters who could thoroughly express and visualize their ideas, which was motivating. During our first meeting I had a chance to listen to each students creative process and view their works, “after this observation I told them they were in trouble, because now I had high expectations of them undertaking this mural project. “
With a time frame of about 30 total hours, during the last few months of school while preparing for finals and graduation these students pulled together to create an energetic mural that reflects the essence of their existence… “Technology Meets Nature.”

Momentum 2010

Wow 2010 has been a year of pure non-stop creative flow… and it’s been a challenge just keeping up with writing my blog. But before I begin to embark upon all that is about to happen let me update you all to what has gone down since me last update.

In July I returned to the east coast (Philly) to do a big advertising gig for blackberry Phone. In the past I haven’t talked about or shown photos of this side of my creativity but what the heck you deserve to see all of what I do as an artist.
We were hired to execute the design in four parts over a 2-week period. Tedious and painstakingly we pulled it off while being drenched with the sun in a classic east coast heat wave. Fortunately this project provided me the opportunity to work with and hire my friends along with some bright young interns that added comic relief.
